Bromphenol Blue Sultone Form
Bromophenol Blue is used as a sample loading dye in DNA and protein gel electrophoresis. It is typically combined with sucrose and Xylene Cyanol in solution and mixed with samples prior to gel loading. The migration of samples in the gel is visualised from a migrating blue dye front.
Xylene cyanol acts as a secondary marker of sample migration.
